FAQ

How long has The Hambledon Gallery been going?

The shop first opened in 1962 as an artists’ meeting place and then a gallery. In 2022 we celebrated 60 years and created our own collection of products under the label 1962, you can see them here. Over the years it has grown into the lifestyle shop it is today.

Where does the name The Hambledon Gallery come from?

The shop was originally an artists’ meeting place and then an art gallery, which is why it is a ‘gallery’. There is a celebrated a prehistoric hill fort nearby called Hambledon Hill, which is the reason for the ‘Hambledon’.
